Going Green:

Our Commitment to Sustainability and Community Impact

At la Tierra Salon & Day Spa, we are dedicated members of Green Circle Salons, passionately advocating for environmental responsibility and community engagement. Our commitment is evident through our active participation in Aveda’s Earth Month activities, which include two months of fundraising efforts and an annual Walk for Water event on Earth Day. This dedication aligns perfectly with our values, bolstering our continuous efforts toward environmental sustainability and community enhancement.

Over the years, we have diligently recycled various salon items, such as color tubes, shampoo bottles, and backbar essentials, encouraging our valued clients to join us in these eco-friendly practices. We take pride in the innovative and sustainable repurposing of these materials. For instance, hair color waste is transformed into clean energy or separated into water and oil for fuel conversion. Recycled metals are reimagined as car parts or bicycles. Paper and cardboard are processed into paper pulp, which is then used for new paper products or cellulose insulation. Plastics are sorted, cleaned, and remade into new shampoo and product bottles. To learn more about the journey of our recycled materials, visit: Green Circle Salons – Where Waste Goes.

Embracing the opportunity to reduce our environmental footprint is a privilege we wholeheartedly cherish. Our clients eagerly join us on this mission, showcasing their dedication to environmental stewardship. To further support our recycling program and our ongoing commitment as a Green Circle Salon, we charge a $2 fee per client service visit.

We are proud advocates of the Green Circle movement, promoting its significance both within our industry and beyond. Our goal is to inspire widespread participation, enabling us all to drive significant change. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Green Circle for leading the way to a greener future. Together, let’s continue our journey toward sustainability and community well-being.
